I interrupt the tactics write up for a this brief photo break. I recently painted pGoreshade to see if I could paint white. As it turns out I can't. Still, I personally like him, I just wish I was a better painter and that I had a better camera.

Not bad at all, though you can try one of two things (that come to mind at the moment) to get your white to stand out/be more defined.
ReplyDeleteFirst, you can do a black, brown, or dark grey wash to fill in your shadows and then clean up with whatever white you're using.
Second is to base coat your mini in the grey of your choice and then highlight with white.
Third (one came to mind) would be to black/brown/grey line.
Or turn the lights down so all of the colors aren't drowned out.
ReplyDeleteAlso, don't use a flash.
@Mugu: I tried to use bastion grey to achieve that look. I was worried about going too obvious so I toned it back a bit. I like the black lining idea. I've read about it but I haven't tried it yet.
ReplyDelete@Brian. My camera sucks, that's pretty much all I've got. I didn't use a flash because it made everything pur white.
